At long last it finally snowed in Turku. It's been a very warm winter; well by Finnish standards anyway, and we were beginning to think the snow would never come but finally this week we got a dusting then a little dump....before the rain turned it all to mucky slush again. This is the the first time the kids have ever seen real snow so they were very excited. And it's been years for Daddy and Aiti so they were pretty amped too. Before the rain came and washed it all away we teamed up with the Neighbours from number 2 and had sled rides, built our kids' first ever snowman, threw a few snowballs and generally got in amongst it. Gloggi and hot chocolate afterwards never tasted so good.
"It's cold"
Or as Emi would say "Kylmä!"
Lumiukko #1
Lumiukko and Eino
Emi and K getting all Godzilla on the Gingerbread house. We're never been able to make these in NZ as the humidity of an Auckland Xmas means they would collapse in 1/2 a day.
Both Aiti and Daddy had one of these little angel candle carousel things when they were little too. And I'm sure we were just as transfixed....and yes it's a Christmas sheep. Don't ask.
