Karekare Beach,
June 1st, 2011
Karekare beach was the one place Mira was adamant we needed to go if we wanted to take photos to document what NZ means to her, Andrew, Kasper and Emilia. The weather gods were kind and we found ourselves traipsing through lagoons, mud flats and sand dunes carrying two 2yrs olds and a camera. The light was beautiful, the wind gusty and kind of warm for a winters day. The kids ran and jumped and in between I took photos.
They are lucky to possess such a deep connection to this landscape and I'd like to think that when they look at these photos they will remember Karekare and will know that Karekare remembers them.
